About The Film:
University of Illinois had approached The French Fries Entertainment Team for a project, to essentially document their stay in India, however due to some financial constraints it couldn’t materialize, that is when Ravneet decided to do the project all by himself. For the project he had to travel with their MBA students on a visit to India and had to document their visit in the form of an interactive video.
And was it was an absolute delight with them, he reminisces! They had come to India for just ten days, out of which, they spent 3 days in Delhi, another 3 in Mumbai, 1 in Agra and the last 3 in Chennai. To really know the other person’s experience and shoot it, one must acknowledge and try and understand their distinct personalities and perceptions and albeit he had just ten days to, he definitely gave it his best shot.
Ravneet tried to make them as comfortable as was possible, by always blending in with them, asking them about their lives, their stories, not to just shoot or record but to know them on a personal level and ask them just the right questions. As with filming for such projects, you can not just assume that the person will be as comfortable on camera as off it, chances are they might hesitate to even share what is really in their heart, that is when getting to know them really helps! Also if you happen to be in a similar situation, make sure you don’t hurry them, try and take is as slow as possible, again not so slow that they feel like you’re not doing justice to the job. A balance needs to be struck.
Because at the end of the day you have to finish the job and finish it well.
He absolutely loved shooting for this project and also ended up making good friends, who he wishes all the very best in life! It was indeed, a trip of a lifetime, both for the director as well as the students who were a part of it.
